Support Special Health Resources this East Texas Giving Day

By Shaun’ta Whitehead

CEO, Special Heath Resources

At Special Health Resources, we believe everyone deserves access to high-quality, affordable healthcare and for more than 30 years we’ve provided just that.

Special Health Resources is a comprehensive healthcare system, providing affordable care for the entire family. With clinics in Tyler, Jacksonville, Longview, Paris, Texarkana and Texarkana, Arkansas, as well as a fleet of mobile units to serve more rural areas, we provide healthcare to families in 23 East Texas counties and one county in Southwest Arkansas.

Services include: adult primary care; pediatric care; adult and pediatric dental care; women’s health; immunizations; STD and HIV/AIDS screening and treatment; as well as mental health services and substance abuse treatment. We also work to help address national public health issues like the HIV/ AIDS epidemic, substance use, homelessness and prevention services.

Special Health Resources is a federally qualified health center and we serve the uninsured, under-insured, undocumented and people living in poverty. And now, we’re looking to you, our neighbors, to help support us in our efforts.

For the first time ever, Special Health Resources this year is participating in East Texas Giving Day. If you’re not familiar, East Texas Giving Day – held on April 25 – is one day a year that gives citizens a chance to support local nonprofits – like us – that serve the community. The initiative is organized by the East Texas Communities Foundation.

Your donation allows us to continue providing much needed services to the more than 30,000 East Texans we serve each year, regardless of their ability to pay. Whether you donate $10, $100 or $1,000, every little bit helps.

You can donate now through April 25. Just visit easttexasgivingday.org/specialhealthresources. You can learn more about who we are, our clinics and the services we provide at specialhealth.org. If you’d rather send a physical check or cash, you can mail that donation to: ATTN: Finance Department at P.O. Box 2709, Longview, TX 75606.

Thank you for your continued support!

I was not aware of Special Health Resources. Thank you for the wonderful work you are doing. It says you serve 23 counties in East Texas but not which ones.
