AFC-TX Praises Chairman Creighton, Sen. Paxton, and Rep. Frank for Filing Universal School Choice Bills

AUSTIN – The American Federation for Children-Texas today praised Senator Brandon Creighton (R-Conroe), Chairman of the Senate Education Committee, Senator Angela Paxton (R-New Braunfels), and Representative James Frank (R-Wichita Falls) for filing Senate Bill 8, Senate Bill 8532, and House Bill 5267, respectively. These bills will provide more choices for students and ensure parents have a greater say in their children’s education. Like Governor Abbott and Lt. Governor Patrick, Chairman Creighton, Sen. Paxton, and Rep. Frank have long been champions of educational freedom and have made this issue a priority this legislative session.

Statement from AFC-TX CEO Tommy Schultz:

“Every child in Texas deserves the opportunity to attend the school that best fits his or her needs. The bold legislation introduced today by Senators Creighton and Paxton and Representative Frank would give every student more educational choices and create the largest Education Savings Account program in the country. AFC-TX is also grateful to Governor Abbott and Lt. Governor Patrick, for their vigorous leadership on this vital issue and will work hand in hand with them to deliver educational freedom to all Texans.”
