In this issue we feature a celebration. Arts!Longview honors Pat George Mitchell’s vision and lifetime accomplishments Saturday. She founded the Longview Ballet Theatre in 1972 and over five decades encouraged many youth to dance onstage in East Texas and beyond.

A live performance by the Dallas Children’s Theater of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus: The Musical this week doesn’t sound like an artistic endeavor, but who are we to say it won’t inspire young people to pursue careers in music or acting?
