Academic Rodeo Kicks Off This 2023!!

The Park of East Texas Academic Rodeo kicked off the 33rd presentation of the annual event with events like Middle School Quiz Bowl, Mathletics, our Spelling Bee, and more!

Academic Rodeo began as part of the East Texas State Fair in 1991 with two contests for students in the Tyler Independent School District. It now presents 14 contests each year for students throughout the East Texas area! Groups can be Public, Private, or Home Schools and 4-H County programs.

Approximately 2,000 students are expected to register more than 2,500 entries for the 100 plus schools and groups registered for the Academic
Rodeo!

This year, ribbons and trophies presented to the winning students and teams, elementary level students receive a cash award.

Middle and high school students who are placed are eligible to apply for one of eleven scholarships awarded in February at the Awards Celebration. Scholarship awards are held for student until they graduate from High School.

Academic Rodeo has awarded more than $170,000 in scholarships to students since 2008!!!
