Each February, Champions for Children holds its annual fundraiser, the “Art of Chocolate.” For 2022, the organization will be having an online art auction to raise money for its various programs that help at-risk children.
Champions’ “SPEAKEASY GALLERY” is a unique collection of 1920’s inspired art pieces that go up for auction Monday, January 30. The collection can be viewed in person at Texas Bank & Trust, 2323 W. Grande Ave., in Tyler, or online at
32auctions.com. The auction will close February 11th at 7:30 p.m.
The gallery is a collaboration of East Texas artists, Valerosa Designs and Gallery, Tyler Museum of Art, Young Audiences, and Champions for Children. Champions will receive a portion of the sale of each piece. Valerosa Designs and Gallery coordinated the collection.
The participating artists are Jacoby McKenzie, Doug Carter, Amanda Hukill, Don Bristow, Ron Crosby, John Martindale, and Alex and Lisha Mack. In addition, the auction will also feature a special compilation piece created with individually-designed craft sticks, each made by a child from Smith County.
