Ore City’s 38th annual July 4th Fun Festival will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday with the introduction of the Miss Ore City Fun Festival Queens, followed by a barn dance at 8 p.m.
Bubba DeBerry and the Ore City Volunteer Fire Department will present a giant fireworks show at 10 p.m. Afterwards, the barn dance will continue until midnight.
A patriotic parade will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, proceeding down Main Street from the high school, and turning east on FM 450. Grand Marshal is Joe E. “Buddy” Ferguson.
After the parade, Lynn Alexander will sing the National Anthem at the Bandstand, followed by Gospel Music beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until 2:30 p.m.
Bring your lawn chairs and join in the fun.
The Texas Pistolaros gunfighters will entertain throughout the day.
An Antique Car Show will be held in memory of Police Chief Haskell McMillon from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday on FM 450, two blocks east of the traffic signal.
Tater and the clowns will again be on hand to entertain young and old alike, and there will be plenty of good food and a mini flea market.

1 p.m., drawing for $500 grand prize (tickets will be on sale)
1 p.m., Pea Shelling Contest
1:30 p.m., Watermelon Eating Contest
