#1 Hits of the 60s, which has been voted one of the top 10 shows in Branson, Mo., will be presented by the Upshur County Arts Council Friday night, Feb. 5, at the Gilmer Civic Center, starting at 7:30 p.m.

This high-energy, non-stop party will take you back in time as the talented cast of performers highlights the music and dance of the fabulous decade, the 1960s.

The box office will open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets will be $15 for adults and $5 for students. As part of the Arts Council’s 2009-2010 season, the show will be open at no extra cost to season ticket holders. Concessions will be available.

The cast fits in nearly 100 songs from the 60s, including a medley of all top songs from each year of the decade.

Included are skits that define the era and evoke the memories of the “British Invasion,” California Surfin’, Motown, and The Age of Aquarius.

There is also plenty of humor and stage props that add to the fun, including a huge jukebox that will take you back in time.

The show also focuses some attention on the phenomenal events that occurred during the 1960s, forever changing America’s history and music.
