UPSHUR COUNTY PATRIOTS and members of other camps of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, led in this procession by Mark Vogl of Gilmer, dedicated a Confederate Marker at Oak Hill Cemetery Sunday afternoon. The marker was in honor of George Green Lansdale, who had served in the Civil War. Lansdale is the grandfather of Mirror columnist Lurline Johnson and Lawrence Caldwell, and related to many others in Upshur County. About 60, including an estimated 15 to 20 SCV members, braved the chilly weather to take part or observe.
