ENJOYING THE new swags of hot pink, lime and royal blue in her room, Alexis Williams displays the new “Joy, Joy, Joy” pillow which carries out the theme in her boldly colored room. Brian and Irma Williams at 1001 Dogwood have one of the three homes on the Twentieth Century Tour of Homes Thursday, Dec. 3.

Excitedly Irma Williams sent the message to this reporter, “Two flocked trees have arrived and three crosses (for the side table in the dining room at her home on 1001 Dogwood in Gilmer). They look great!”

Brian and Irma Williams are hosting one of the homes for the Twentieth Century Club’s annual Tour of Homes.

Daily finishing touches are being added as the three families, Ed Williams, Jeff Traylor and Brian Williams, prepare for the visitors.

The annual bake sale will be at the First National Bank from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Dec. 3, and the tour will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Tickets are available from members or at the Chamber of Commerce for $10.

There are trees in most rooms at Brian Williams’ home. The variation comes in the size and decorations of the trees.

The entry hall and the dining room are decorated in antique gold, copper and lush chocolate brown to complement the woods of the dining room table and side table. With the walls in Marlot Red, the room sings of elegance.

Swags of copper, gold and chocolate line the entrance mirror and the doorway to the dining room.

In the living room a tall, slim tree is decorated with angels, bows and balls in the same copper, gold and chocolate theme.

In the wonderfully large kitchen, another tall tree is decorated in reds and greens. At its base is the beaded and sequined Christmas Tree skirt created by Barbara Williams upon which the Christmas presents will rest. After Tracy Williams Esquivel and Brian Williams established their own homes, their mother divided the ornaments of her tree between them. Those traditional ornaments are on the kitchen tree.

Between each window hangs one of the stockings, again Barbara Williams’ creations, with angels on each of the girls and shepherds for the guys.

The woodwork on the cooking island and the counter along the east wall were done by Brian, while behind closed doors lurk the washer and dryer combination.

The exit to the garden has been widened from double doors to three as the interior of this large friendly room invites participation by guests in the festivities.

The entrance to the kitchen is decorated with a swag with fruit and nuts, while the columns at the island sport garlands.

The bedrooms have individualized decor. The master bedroom has a tree decorated with one portrait of the parents and the rest of the tree are images of the children throughout the years.

Brett Williams has a tree in orange and black with all the ornaments from different sports. Over the cabinet is Brett’s first ball and glove and a recent addition, a Buckeye playoff cloth.

For Alexis’s room, Barbara and Irma Williams joined forces with Linda Kay Dean to make a swag of hot pink over white Christmas lights held together with lime and royal blue ribbons and ornaments.

The second bathroom, which the children share, is in red with a silver manger scene and a tree decorated with the silver bells.
