VIRSKY UKRAINIAN NATIONAL DANCE COMPANY TO PERFORM AT LETU OCT. 4

LeTourneau University will host the Virsky Ukrainian National Dance Company in a matinee performance at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, as the first performance of the 2009-2010 Performance Series in the S. E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center. The season is sponsored by Martin Midstream Partners and AT&T Yellow Pages.
The Virsky Ukranian National Dance Company is an artistic folk dance ensemble that showcases presents the exquisite charm of the Ukraine and the wealth of its traditions through folk dancing that is romantic, energetic and exciting. Each dance draws on the wisdom of the people as well as the folk tradition of humor and optimism. The show dazzles with costumes that are bright colors, embracing the beauty of the dancers’ native Ukraine. The event is part of the official tour of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of the Ukraine. Lewis Architects Engineers is the sponsor of this show.
Individual tickets for this show are $65 for the first orchestra Level A seating, $58 for second orchestra Level B seating, $51 for lower balcony Level C seating and $44 for upper balcony Level D seating. The Belcher Center seats more than 2,000 and is the largest building on LeTourneau University’s 162-acre campus. The Belcher Center was built primarily as a chapel where students gather three times each week for corporate worship and spiritual instruction, but also hosts educational, cultural and spiritual programs for the community.
