Goodwill Industries’ Kimberly Lewis Discuss Unconscious Biases at next BBB Workshop

September 21, 2021 Tyler, TX - Better Business Bureau serving Central East Texas (BBB) is hosting the next Lunch.Learn.Lead, “Unconscious Bias”, on Tuesday, October 12  from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at BBB offices at 6115 New Copeland Rd. in Tyler, TX. 

Kimberly Lewis is this month’s presenter. Lewisis the President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of East Texas and has more than 20 years of executive level non-profit and business experience.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, a Master’s Degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV, and is a Certified Executive through the Goodwill Industries Executive Development Program.  She is also a certified Master Life Coach. The workshop is based on Lewis’ latest book, “Unconscious Bias”. 

“I wrote the book as a follow up to my previous book entitled, "A Seat at the Table or Part of the Meal," as a practical guide to help readers uncover their personal areas of bias,” Lewis said. “It's not until we unpack our own baggage that we can help bring clarity about racial and societal injustices in our community.”


Attendees will be challenged to look at themselves and ask why they think, behave or believe things that may or may not be true about people based on their culture, ethnicity, belief systems, upbringing, social status, economic background, gender, sexual identity and self-identity.
