According to the Equine team at CABBR, “The Explorer Chicks were awesome. We had them help with feeding at Doris Day as well as out in Hattie's Haven. They got to meet many of our special needs horses and feed them individually. In the afternoon they helped with some pasture maintenance before doing afternoon feeds again at Doris Day. After feeding they had the chance to groom some of the older horses.”

And the Wildlife team reported: “Our group got a peek into what it’s like working on our wildlife team by helping to clean and feed our small animals areas which included the iguana house, avian coop, and tortoise yard! They also assisted in diet preparation and ended by helping with winter clean-up of our Farm Barn where our farm pigs and potbellies live!”

Founded in 1979, the 1,400-acre Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, operated by The Fund for Animals in partnership with The Humane Society of the United States, is one of America's largest and most diverse animal sanctuaries. Located in Murchison, Texas, The Ranch is a permanent haven to more than 800 domestic and exotic animals rescued from research laboratories, circuses, zoos, captive hunting operations, factory farming, and government round- ups. Residents include tigers, bears, chimpanzees, bison, tortoises, horses, burros and more. While the sanctuary is not a zoo, it is open to the public once or twice a month for intimate, prescheduled Ranch of Dreams tours to respect the peace and privacy of the animals.
