Longtime turf export George Toma who prepared turf fields for every professional sports event imaginable was at the event as a special consultant. Toma retired from full-time work in 1999 but continues to work as a sports consultant for sports facilities and their groundskeepers around the US. He was honored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001.
After the media were allowed to talk to Toma, Centerplate, the Hard Rock Stadium food provider showed the gourmet food they would be offering fans on Super Sunday and then
media members were treated to the various food options.
Items included were Calle Ocho Cubano Sausage, Skewered Pork Kan-Kan, BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches, BBQ Nachos, Key West Dog, Cuban Dog, Islamorada Chicken Pops and Caribbean-Style Mojo Porchetta.
Over 5,000 workers were on site at the stadium preparing for Sunday’s big game. Following the media tour the stadium will be pretty much locked down until Sunday morning and security will patrol the area on land and in the air to make sure the fans are safe when they are at the game Sunday evening.
