Northeast Texas Habitat Announces Homeownership Orientation Meetings in Harrison & Gregg Counties

September 14, 2018 –Northeast Texas Habitat for Humanity, Inc.  (Formerly Longview Habitat for Humanity) is holding meetings for those interested in home ownership through the Habitat for Humanity Self Help Home Ownership Program.

N.E. Texas Habitat partners with qualified lower-income families who are living in inadequate, unsafe, unaffordable and overcrowded housing to build simple, safe and decent homes.  Homes are funded by community donations and constructed by the future homeowner, licensed contractors, and community volunteers.  The future homeowner then purchases the home at cost with an affordable long-term mortgage.  Mortgage payments help to fund future Habitat projects in the community.

Interested individuals must meet program eligibility requirements concerning income, current living conditions, and partnership requirements and complete an application for consideration.  Attendance at one of the scheduled meetings is required to receive a program application.
