On July 3rd a Fiesta Luncheon was held at Papacita’s Mexican Restaurant in Longview honoring Bonnie Gorman on her 95th Birthday.  Bonnie was joined for her special birthday celebration by her son, Eddie Robertson and his wife, Rusty Robertson, from California, along with 82 other friends, including, former students, and duplicate bridge players.  Bonnie is a retired School Teacher and former Florist Owner. After her husband passed away in 2002, Bonnie took up duplicate bridge. According to Bonnie, she had played social bridge since she was 16. However, she stepped into a new bridge world when she started playing duplicate bridge in 2002. It was a new challenge that she loved and she became an American Contract Bridge League ( ACBL) Life Master in 2011. She has remained mentally sharp and made lots of friends by playing duplicate bridge several times a month at the Gilmer Country Club, Longview DBC, Pittsburg DBC and Lake Cypress Springs BC in Mt. Vernon.
