Dire warnings from a voice only he can hear, two murders, a beautiful woman, and a ghost. Welcome to Cooper Delaney’s world.
Whispers On The Wind, a new romantic suspense by author Dana Wayne (pen name for Gilmer resident, Nancy Hudgins), skillfully blends these diverse ingredients into a fast-paced story. “I wanted to try something different. I’ve written a contemporary romance and a western historical, and wanted to explore a romantic suspense.” She readily admits it was not an easy thing to write. “With a romance, you typically have a couple of main plot lines. A romantic suspense, however, has that plus the suspense element you have to weave in and maintain. It was certainly a challenge, but I’m happy with the result.”
In 2017, her debut novel, Secrets of The Heart, won First Place, Contemporary Romance in a statewide contest sponsored by Texas Association of Authors and her second, Mail Order Groom, was included in the 100 Best Indie Authors to Read Before You Die. “I’m so pleased with the recognition my work has received. To have your efforts validated in such a manner is humbling.”
A closet writer for many years, it wasn’t until she retired in 2013 that she was able to write full time. “You are never too old attain your dreams,” she said. “Your only limitation is your perseverance.”
