Softball catapults to No. 11 in latest NFCA ranking - LINK

LOUISVILLE, Ky.– The Texas A&M University-Commerce softball team is now ranked No. 11 in the country in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association rankings as announced Wednesday. The Lions jumped up 10 spots in the poll after two wins over a nationally ranked opponent last week.

 

The No. 11 Lions defeated Cameron two out of three games last week. The Aggies were ranked No. 18 last week and now come in at No. 21 in the poll. The Lions' only other loss this season has come to Colorado Mesa, who is now ranked No. 1 in the NFCA poll. A&M-Commerce is one of four Lone Star Conference teams in the rankings. Angelo State is ranked No. 4, West Texas A&M is tied at No. 15 and Cameron is ranked No. 21.

 

A&M-Commerce is 5-1 in the LSC standings and will now face Midwestern State in a three-game road series to continue conference play. The teams will meet in a single game on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by a doubleheader matchup beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday. All games will be played at Mustang Park in Wichita Falls.
