Lions qualify for 2018 NCAA Division II Championship as fifth seed in South Central Region

COMMERCE - The Texas A&M University-Commerce men's basketball team will participate in the 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship as the fifth seed in the South Central Region, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday night.

 

The Lions will play the fourth seed Fort Lewis College at West Texas A&M on Saturday, March 10, at a time to be announced.

 

A&M-Commerce has a record of 21-8 and qualifies for the NCAA Division II Tournament for the seventh time in program history and makes its 20thpostseason appearance all-time. The Lions also made the NCAA Tournament in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2005, 2015, and 2017, with a 5-6 all-time record in this tournament. The Lions and Skyhawks have never met previously.
