Mount Vernon Music is selling advance tickets to their August 26 Gala with the Austin-based Lost and Nameless Orchestra. Breaking with tradition, this year’s season-opener will be in The Loft of the M. L. Edwards building, overlooking Mt. Vernon’s Plaza Square. Lost and Nameless will bring an energetic mix of country, Celtic, Appalachian and folk arrangements, and tunes that will get people dancing on the floor of the Loft. The event starts at 7:00 pm and includes a full dinner with table seating, available cash bar, and silent and live auctions to benefit MVM’s scholarship fund and outreach concerts.
Tickets for this event are $40, $25 for children under 12. Advance ticket sales are at both branches of First National Bank of Mt. Vernon, by calling Mount Vernon Music at 903-563-3780, or at www.mountvernonmusic.org. Tickets are also available at the door, though seating is limited.
Memberships in MVM start at $25 and support all the organization’s work, including scholarships for young musicians and outreach work for schools and seniors. Memberships are good for the year June 1 through May 31, and members receive discounts on ticket pricing. Details can be found at MVM’s website.
