GED graduation to be held at Kilgore College

The Kilgore College Adult Education Department will hold a GED graduation ceremony at 7 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2009 at Dodson Auditorium, on the Kilgore College Campus.

The 2009 graduating class includes by city: Big Sandy – Nora Bain (National Adult Education Honor Society), Johnny Beason; Dallas – Kenneth C. Bales, Pralon Lincoln, Mary Jean Pickett; Harleton – Tiffany Anderson; Henderson – Maria Elena Chavez, Tre’Mayne Gibson, Charlie Curtis Luman; Kilgore – Catarina Huerta, Heather Parr, Rachel Parr (Valedic torian), Adriana Salgado; Longview – Jose L. Rachel Parr of Kilgore will give the valedictory address. The salutatorian, Brenda Grimes of Longview, will give the welcome. Pastor Tom McDaniels, the Founding Senior Pastor of LifeBridge Christian Center in Longview, will deliver the Commencement Address.

Over 400 people achieved their GEDs from June of 2008 to June of 2009. Mrs. Bobbie McGee-Benson, Director of Adult Education, said that nearly 60 persons have elected to participate in the graduation ceremony this Friday. The Kilgore College Adult Education Program is headquartered at 300 South High Street at Kilgore College – Longview, but has twenty-five other sites in Gregg, Rusk, and Upshur Counties. This will be the college’s eleventh annual graduation ceremony.
