Grand jury returns 18 indictments

The Upshur County Grand Jury returned 18 indictments, two of them sealed, when it met Tuesday. Two cases were no-billed.

Those named in unsealed indictments included:

• Lajerrious Jackson, 21, Gilmer, endangering a child, a second-degree felony. Bond was set at $200,000, and he remains in the Upshur County Jail.

According to the Upshur County Judicial Search web site, he is also being held on charges of failure to identify as a fugitive, enhanced family violence/assault causing bodily injury, criminal trespass, arson, a second charge of child endangerment, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bonds on those charges total $309,500.

• Lapacqua Green, 28, Gilmer, evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, a state jail felony. Bond was set at $5,000, and she remains in the Upshur County Jail.

• Kevin Neal Wesley, 46, Ore City, aggravated assault of a family member with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony. Bond was set at $50,000, and he remains in the Upshur County Jail.

• Ashley Yvonne Scott, 22, White Oak, aggravated assault (threaten) with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. Bond was set at $25,000.

• Jeremy Deshun Clay, 29, Gladewater, evading arrest with a vehicle, a state jail felony. Bond was set at $10,000 He was also indicted for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony. Bond was set $25,000 on that charge. He remains in the Upshur County Jail.

• Jackie Ray Lucas, 40, Gilmer, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a state jail felony. Bond was set at $10,000. He was also indicted for burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony. Bond was set at $50,000 on that charge. He remains in the Upshur County Jail.

• Michael James Kennemer, 36, Winnsboro, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state jail felony. Bond was set at $10,000, and he remains in the Upshur County Jail.

• William Terry Phillips, 34, Gladewater, theft of property worth between $1,500 and $20,000, a state jail felony. Bond was set at $10,000, and he remains in the Upshur County Jail.

• William Dale Pullen, 31, Gladewater, attempted burglary of a habitation, a third-degree felony. Bond was set at $25,000, and he remains in the Upshur County Jail.

• Steven Craig Moneypenny Jr., 31, Gilmer, prohibited substance in a correctional facility, a third-degree felony. Bond was set at $50,000.

• Thomas Wade Sloan Jr., 55, Gilmer, robbery, a second-degree felony. Bond was set at $4,000, and he remains in the Upshur County Jail.

• Michael Karr Horn, 50, Gladewater, driving while intoxicated-subsequent offense, a third-degree felony. Bond was set at $10,000.

• Lake Brandon Hogue, 29, Gilmer, driving while intoxicated, subsequent offense, a third-degree felony. Bond was set at $10,000.

• Pablo Camilo-Ugarte, 22, Longview, evading arrest with a vehicle, a state jail felony. Bond was set at $10,000.

Sealed indictments included:

• Driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, a state jail felony.

• Possession and transportation of certain chemicals with intent to manufacture controlled substances, a second-degree felony.
