The 21st annual Overton Bluegrass Music Festival is scheduled for June 12-13, 2009 at Overton’s City Park. The Festival is a family-oriented entertainment event sponsored by the City of Overton, TX. Produced and staffed entirely by volunteers, the festival is recognized throughout Texas and far beyond for its beautiful outdoor environment, the friendliness of its people and volunteers, and the quality of its entertainment.

The 2008 festival features an excellent talent lineup, including national touring artists The Lonesome River Band, Charlie Sizemore, NewFound Road, The Donna Hughes Band, Pine Mountain Railroad, as well as popular Texas bands Hickory Hill, Bowles Creek, Blue River, and The Bluegrass Solution. Talented youth groups Pick’N Grass and the Texas Swing Fiddlers will also be featured on Saturday. Concert hours are 1:00-10:45 PM on Friday, and 12:00-11:00 PM on Saturday. Ticket prices are $15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday, or $25 for both days. Children under 16 are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Student tickets are half price.

In addition to the great music, the festival will also feature arts and crafts, children's activities, and workshops. Workshops on guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin, fiddle, bass and songwriting will be conducted on Saturday. An excellent variety of food and drink concessions will be available, sponsored by community organizations. (No alcoholic beverages will be served or allowed in the park).

The public is invited to bring their own festival seating (such as lawn chairs or blankets) and come to Overton for a great weekend of music and fun!
