Four guilty pleas and two motions to revoke probation were heard in 115th District Court in Gilmer last week, with Judge Lauren Parish presiding.
Motions to revoke probation included:
• Albert Lee May, 53, Gilmer, driving while intoxicated, subsequent offense, a third-degree felony. He received 10 years in prison. He also entered a guilty plea to another DWI charge, and got a seven-year sentence for that. Sentences are to run concurrently. Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd prosecuted the cases, and Matthew Patton was defense attorney.
• Chanta R. Willie, 28, Gilmer, forgery, a state jail felony. She received 18 months in a state jail. Assistant District Attorney Robert Cole Jr. prosecuted her, and Craig Bass was defense attorney.
Others entering guilty pleas included:
• Deanna Michelle Peleaz,25, Gilmere, prohibited substance in a correctional facility, a third-degree felony. She received four years in prison. Byrd was prosecutor and Craig Bass was defense attorney.
• Christopher Michael Hutton, 20, Gladewater, theft of property between $1,500 and $20,000 in value, a state jail felony. He received five years deferred adjudication probation. He was also fined $1,500 and ordered to perform 400 hours of community service and assessed other costs. Assistant District Attorney Edward Choy was prosecutor, and Tim Cone was defense attorney.
• Eddie Ray Arnold, 24, Gilmer, credit or debit card abuse, a state jail felony. He received two years in a state jail, probated for four years. He was also fined $750 and ordered to pay $20 in restitution to his victim. Cole was prosecutor, and Cone was defense attorney.
