SAN ANTONIO – Voters will get their chance to hear from the candidates for Lt. Governor on Monday, Sept. 29 in Austin. Earlier today, the Van de Putte and Patrick campaigns agreed to a televised debate, hosted by the Texas Tribune and KLRU. Additional debate details will be forthcoming.

Senator Leticia Van de Putte issued the following statement:

“Dan never called my phone, but our campaigns connected on Twitter. Like I said before, one debate set, at least four more to go. Texans across the entire state deserve to hear from the candidates, directly. To do otherwise is disrespectful to them.

“I plan to earn every vote. I remain committed to debates in the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas. I am also open to additional debates in El Paso, Lubbock, and Corpus Christi.

“Dan still has my phone number, he can call me anytime.”
