Class will be offered Aug. 21 on preparing pastures for the winter season

The Kilgore College Agriculture Department and the Gregg County AgriLife Extension Office will host a gardening class 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the KC Demonstration Farm in Overton.

The farm’s address is 2211 Hwy 135 East, Overton, TX 75684.

The class will cover methods used to prepare pastures for various cool-season forages including prepared seedbeds and over seeded bermuda pastures. This will be a hands-on demonstration of these techniques in the field, so bring a lawn chair.

The cost for the class is $10 and registration will be held on-site the day of the class.
