Reverend Wendy Miller, Upper Room author, and spiritual formation sage will lead the Midweek Sabbath
Awakening Retreat, just northeast of Gilmer, at Gilmont Camp and Conference Center, September 22-24, 2014. The
community is invited to attend and spend time growing in understanding of Sabbath and how to live a more
intentional spiritual life.

are seeking a deeper relationship with God,” comments Marie Nelson, Special Programs Coordinator at Gilmont.
“Offering spiritual formation programs give us opportunity to serve a larger Christian audience, and Rev. Miller
offers such a seasoned, yet fresh message to build upon any Christian’s walk, no matter the age or stage of spiritual
growth you may find yourself.”
Teaching within the Certification in Spiritual Direction program at Perkins, Rev. Miller has helped to focus
the path of many of her students including Rev. Marialice Billingsley, who serves as Gilmont’s Spiritual Director,
and has been instrumental in planning the September retreat. “Wendy opens the heart to the reality of life with God.
She shares her own transforming story by leading others to God's truth and by exemplifying Holy listening skills,”
explains Marialice, “What a blessing to have the opportunity to connect with Rev. Miller in a retreat setting here in
