ETBU Begins Fall Semester on Monday, August 25

MARSHALL, Texas (7/31/14) - East Texas Baptist University begins its Fall 2014 semester on Monday, August 25, 2014. The deadline for new students to apply and complete the admissions process for the Fall semester is Thursday, August 21, 2014.

ETBU will welcome first-time freshman and transfer students on Thursday, August 21, 2014, as they check-in to residence halls from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The faculty and staff will be present to greet the new students and serve them by helping them move in to the residence halls. Members of local churches will be present on the Quad giving out water and snacks to the new students. 

Returning students may begin to move-in on Friday, August 22, 2014, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Returning students may also move into resident halls on Saturday, August 23, 2014, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 24, 2014, 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Tiger Camp leaders and athletic training students move-in on August 13. ETBU football, band leadership, and volleyball team members will check-in on August 15. On August 17, Tiger band and soccer members will move-in for the Fall Semester. 

ETBU will hold “Welcome Week” for first-time freshmen and transfer students August 21-24, 2014. “Welcome Week” provides a time to help new students make the transition to university life as well as become familiar with the academic, spiritual, and social purposes of the University. “Welcome Week” will also help the new residents of Marshall to develop relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the local community. This time will help the students get acquainted with the University’s facilities, resources, and services.

The new students will have an opportunity to participate in “ETBU Cares” service projects in the community on Friday morning, August 22, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
