The First United Methodist Church would like to invite you to join us for a month of special worship and music events this summer. On Sunday, June 29, we will have a guest speaker. Dr. David Jenkins will be preaching on "The Importance of Simple Things." The Chancel Choir will be singing "Jesu, Jesu" arranged by Jane Marshall.

On Sunday, July 6, a portion of the worship service will be dedicated to honoring our American independence. We will again have a guest speaker, Reverend Bob Ross. He will preach on "Being Human...Being Christian." FUMC Music Director, Lora Robinson, will sing the solo "I Claim the Cross" by Greer.

Sunday, July 13, will feature special music by Buzzy Green. And on Sunday July 20, our guests musicians will be Darren Richardson from Gladewater and his sister, Melanie Richardson from Dallas. The Richardsons will be presenting gospel and traditional songs of praise throughout the service.

To end our month of special music, on Sunday, July 27, our guest soloist is Jodi Mitchell from Sabine. Jodi is a 2-year Texas All-State Mixed Choir member and UIL “Outstanding Soloist” for 2014. She will be singing “Eternal Life” by Dungan.
