Austin, TX - Today Young Conservatives of Texas released the results of their 2016 Presidential Straw Poll.

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz had a strong showing, finishing first place with 47.8% of the vote. YCT Alumni U.S. Senator Rand Paul came in second with 18.5% and Dr. Ben Carson came in third place with 11.1%. 

"To have Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Rand Paul dominate our straw poll so overwhelmingly truly shows the conservative atmosphere building for 2016," said State Chairman Jeff Morris. "It will be interesting to see how our results correlate with the Republican Party of Texas results that come out later today."

Sen. Rand Paul - 18.52%

Dr. Ben Carson - 11.11%

Gov Rick Perry - 7.41%

Rep. Paul Ryan - 3.03%

Fmr Gov. Jeb Bush - 2.36%

Gov. Bobby Jindal - 2.02%

Fmr Sen. Rick Santorum - 2.02%

Gov. Scott Walker - 1.35%

Sen Marco Rubio - 1.01%

Gov. Mike Pence - 0.67%

Gov Chris Christie - 0.34%

Gov John Kasich - 0.34%

Rep. Steve King - 0.34%

A group calling themselves Young Conservatives of Texas is a "non-partisan" group? Huh? Im a libertarian conservative and support Rand. Just not sure how they can call themselves non-partisan with that name.

That is because they are not. They are for sale to the highest bidder. Just like all of government. They do not give a rats ass about any one, except those with money!
