LETU NAMES NEW GRADUATE PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DR. JAY GARY
(Longview, Texas) –LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, has named Dr. Jay Gary as its new Graduate Program Director in the School of Business to direct LETU’s graduate programs in business administration, strategic leadership, health care and a new program in engineering management, set to launch in January.
As an associate professor, Gary will teach ‘Entrepreneurial Leadership’ in LETU’s MBA program and will speak to business groups on topics such as ‘future proof your company’ to help managers respond to trends that are reshaping their industries.
Gary has eight years of experience in creating online degrees for working professionals. He comes to Longview from Regent University in Norfolk, Virginia, where he created a ‘strategic foresight’ master degree, along with majors, concentrations, and courses from the MBA to PhD for Regent’s School of Business and Leadership.
Previously, Gary served as president of Global Service Associates, a Colorado consulting group whose partners helped business and communities form entrepreneurial alliances. Throughout the 1990s, he also worked as a millennial consultant to help communities mark their passage into the 21st century. He also authored a book, “The Star of 2000: Our Journey Toward Hope.”
He is best known among evangelical audiences for launching the ‘Perspectives on the World Christian Movement’ program in 1982, which has enrolled over 100,000 students since its inception. Following that, he worked as an alliance manager for the Lausanne Movement, founded by evangelist the Rev. Billy Graham.
Gary earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from Georgia Tech, a master’s degree in education from California State—Los Angeles, and a doctorate in organizational leadership from Regent University.
Gary is a Longview Rotary Club member and a founding member of the Association of Professional Futurists in Houston, Texas. He is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He and his wife Olgy have two grown children.
