Mrs. Potter, formerly of Gilmer, passed away on Tuesday, May 27.
What follows is a Facebook posting on Wednesday, May 28, from one of her daughters.
Our darling mother, Miss Daisy went to meet ‘Potter’ yesterday in the sweet bye-and-bye at 10:23 on 5/27/2014. We will be bringing her to her final resting place in Gilmer this weekend with visitation at Croley’s 5-7 pm on Sunday June 1 and funeral at Croley’s Chapel June 2, Monday morning at 10am. Laine and I will be here a short time now but will look forward to longer visit later in the summer when we return. We are proud to place The Historic Upshur Museum solo as her chosen charity for any posthumous gifts of friends wishing to honor Miss Daisy. Mother always felt her involvement in this lasting project was a way to say thank you to Gilmer and Upshur County for their welcoming and adopting her and ‘Potter’ when they placed roots in Gilmer. In lieu of flowers we ask you to make memorials to Daisy J. Potter in care of: The Historic Upshur Museum, 111 Simpson Street, Gilmer. Texas 75644. We love you all and will see you if time, travels and God permits, this weekend.
