The Twentieth Century Club’s Spring Luncheon and final meeting of the club year was held on May 1 at the Gilmer Country Club. Luncheon committee members Cal Arnold, Irma Williams, Mikie Clark, and Betty Finney greeted their guests as they arrived.

Mrs. Arnold formally welcomed everyone and the invocation was given by Rita Lewis. A scrapbook was presented to Jean Hamil by historian Betty Orms in recognition of the conclusion of her two year term of office as the club president. The Roundtable Café at the country club prepared and served the luncheon plates which featured a green salad, baked seasoned chicken with cream sauce, green beans and rice. Dessert was a Key lime pie with sauce.

At the conclusion of the meal, Mrs. Williams introduced the day’s program, a fashion show presented by Maven’s clothing store in Pittsburg. Janice Gage and Mrs. Williams served as models.

Attendees in addition to those mentioned above were Annette Breazeale, Merle Cross, Sandy Dean, Bridget Fowler, Marynell Henry, Annette Herrmann, Mary Ann Patterson, Rebecca Skinner, Bettye Lou Smith, Jeannie Smith, Melinda Smith, Abby Stewart, Raye White, Barbara Williams and Margo Carter.
