A Smart Driver Course, hosted by AARP, is scheduled for Thursday, May 29 at 8:45 a.m. at the Northeast Texas Community College Hanson-Sewell Center in Pittsburg. This newly-revised, four-hour course may qualify attendees for significant car insurance discounts with many auto insurance companies.

The course is designed for seniors 50 years and older, however, anyone may enroll. Topics include common crash situations, driver safety strategies, new state laws, effects of aging on driving, and others. Class size is limited and participants must call to enroll. This Smart Driver Course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.

A lot has changed since AARP Driver Safety first began as “55 Alive.” The roads have changed, cars and the technology inside them have changed and even the people behind the wheel have changed. As drivers, it is important to keep up with those changes to protect ourselves and others. For more information and to register, please call 903-434-8393 or 8394.
