NATCHITOCHES – The Natchitoches Tricentennial Celebration will continue Saturday, May 10, 2014 with Amanda Show in concert and a fireworks show over Cane River Lake.  The event, sponsored by CLECO, is free and open to the public.


The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the downtown riverbank stage in historic Natchitoches, followed by a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.


Amanda Shaw is an American Cajun fiddler, singer and actress from Covington, Louisiana.  She has been touring nationally and internationally since the age of eight and has become a New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival favorite.  In 2009, she was named the Emerging Cultural Leader by the State of Louisiana.  She has also appeared in several Disney movies including Stuck in the Suburbs and Now You See It.


In preparation for the fireworks shoot, the downtown riverbank will be closed to all vehicular traffic beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014.  The Church Street Bridge and Williams Avenue from St. Clair to Henry Avenue will close to all traffic both pedestrian and vehicular at 8:30 p.m.  The streets will remain closed until the conclusion of the fireworks show.
