Evangelist James Robison To Speak At ETBU Spring Commencement May 3rd

MARSHALL, Texas (4/25/14) – Spring Commencement will be held at East Texas Baptist University on Saturday, May 3, 2014, in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center. Two commencement ceremonies will take place with the first ceremony beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the second beginning at 1:30 p.m. 


The Spring Commencement speaker is the founder of LIFE Outreach International and evangelist James Robison of Fort Worth. He was a student at East Texas Baptist College in the 1960’s.   Since 1962, Robison has been preaching the Gospel and first started through crusade evangelism.


For over 40 years, Robison has been sharing the gospel via television. LIFE Outreach International is a Christian organization dedicated to sharing the transforming truth of God’s love in word and deed. The ministry encourages the support of missions and relief programs in areas of need throughout the world. LIFE helps feed more than 400,000 children throughout Africa every day and has provided more than 4,000 water wells in 40 countries.   


Robison, along with his wife Betty, host the LIFE TODAY television show, seen on broadcast/satellite TV and streamed on the internet. The Robison’s celebrate 51 years of ministry and marriage this year.   


The 10:30 a.m. ceremony will include the School of Education, School of Fine Arts, and the School of Humanities. The 1:30 p.m. ceremony will include the Fred Hale School of Business, School of Christian Studies, School of Natural and Social Sciences and the Frank S. Groner Endowed Memorial School of Professional Studies (Nursing).


ETBU will have 145 students participating in Spring Commencement.
