The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct an open house meeting on Thursday, April 17, in Ore City to discuss the proposed Hwy. 155 roadway widening from 0.3 miles east of US 259 to 1.5 miles west of FM 729 in Marion and Upshur Counties.

Also included with this project is the replacement of the Big Cypress Creek (Lake O’ the Pines) Bridge. The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ore City High School cafetorium located at 100 Rebel Road in Ore City.

All interested citizens are invited to attend this open house to express their views and discuss the project.

The open house will feature a “come and go” format. TxDOT personnel will be available to answer questions and receive written comments from those in attendance.

Those interested in attending the open house who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact the Atlanta District Planning Office at 903-799-1302 at least two days prior to the open house.

Because the open house will be conducted in English, any requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should also be made at least two days prior to the open house. TxDOT will make every effort to accommodate these needs.

Maps and drawings that will be exhibited at the open house are available for public review at TxDOT’s Atlanta District North Design Office located at 701 E. Main in Atlanta, Texas.

Information on the proposed project can also be found at http://www.txdot.gov. Search key words “SH 155 bridge.” For project information, please contact Project Manager John Baker at 903-799-1340.
