The Cass County Firefighters’ Association is hosting a pipeline emergences workshop sponsored by Enbridge for fire departments, law enforcement,  emergency responders, emergency planners and civic organizations. It will be held on Saturday, April 12th from 8 a.m. to about 5 p.m. at the Legacy Event Center, 102 East 1st Street (State Highway 11/49), Hughes Springs. (see attached)

You and members of your organization are invited to attend this informative workshop. The instructor, Philip Oakes, is the National Program Director and Trainer for the National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM). He will be furnishing us with information that will help Northeast Texas enhance our regional, county and local disaster response standard operating guidelines. Any major pipeline emergency (e.g., Kentucky earlier this year) will involve multiple jurisdiction incident command. It is important that we are ready with cohesive response teams. As a bonus, qualified instructors and training personnel will receive Train-the-Trainer certification so that you may further educate you own communities and organizations.

For planning purposes we are asking individuals and organizations to contact Bob Kenyan, Cass County Firefighters’ Association Public Relations Officer, at e-mail address or phone at (903) 562-1549. Please furnishing the name and type of organization your are representing and how many are planning to attend. Contact is the same for any additional information.
