Sunday ice storm knocked out power to 28,000 customers at SWEPCO, with 26,000 of those in East Texas, primarily in Longview, Gladewater and Gilmer. Crews are working to restore power. Currently 16,415 customers remain without power. The Longview peak of outages reached 18,350 at 10 p.m. Sunday, with Gladewater’s peak at midnight of 4,200, and Gilmer area peak was 2,620 at midnight Sunday.

Gladewater – 3,553 customers
Gilmer – 2,515 customers
About 270 resources are working in Longview area to restore power. ETRs may change, once full extent of storm damage has been assessed and crews make progress on repairs.
Customers are asked to report outages via www.swepco.com or by calling 1-888-218-3919. Never approach downed power lines, and be watchful of ice and tree limbs falling from overhead. Customers with generators are asked to use them according to the manufacturer instructions to prevent injury to themselves and to SWEPCO crews.
