“KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON” was the focus of the 2014 Piney Woods Child Care Annual Conference held on Jan. 25. The conference was sponsored by an area cluster of Texas A&M AgriLife County Extension Agents/Family & Consumer Sciences in the Northeast Texas area.  Topics discussed included Brain Gym, arts and crafts, keeping children safe and licensing updates. Two child care facilities from Upshur County were represented at the conference – Little Steps Learning Center in Gilmer and Kids World in Gladewater. Staff gave up much of their Saturday to increase their knowledge and quality of care.  Participants from Upshur County from left are Julie York, Upshur County Extension Agent/FCS; Audrey Huff, Little Steps; Lisa Allen, Kids World; Raven Scott, Little Steps; Crystal Gilliam, Little Steps; Debbie Little, Little Steps; Lisa Quezada, Little Steps; Hope Mosley, Little Steps; and Emily Myrow, Little Steps.
