A benefit fund has been established at First National Bank of Gilmer for Cody Stansbury, who suffered multiple injuries in a car accident Dec. 1 on FM 2088, the Bettie highway.

He was airlifted to East Texas Medical Center Tyler, and has gone through three major surgeries and is facing a long recovery.

He is the son of Todd and Debbie Stansbury of Gilmer.

Donations can be made to the Cody Stansbury Benefit Fund at First National Bank-Gilmer.

An aunt told The Gilmer Mirror that the family feels that man y miracles have happened to bring him this far, considering how badly his car was wrecked and the damage to his body, with many broken bones and other injuries.

All help and prayers will be appreciated.

The family hopes that he will be able to come home this week.
