Winter weather is hitting throughout the state and Texans may be impacted by living in affected areas or driving through. As such, I would like to offer Mark Cox, director of Bridgestone’s Winter Driving School or his partner, Kurt Spitzner – both well-known winter driving experts. Mark and Kurt can share tips for safe driving during winter months – specifically, what to look out for, how to react, how to conduct a pre-driving check, etc.

Additionally, Mark and Kurt can debunk some common winter driving myths, including:

  • Myth 1: You don’t need winter tires unless it’s snowing.
  • Myth 2: If you have all wheel drive, you’re good to go in the snow.
  • Myth 3:  If you have all-season tires, you may not need to switch to winter tires.
  • Myth 4: Under-inflate your tires for better traction.
