Special Health Resources for Texas, Inc. has received a grant to provide navigators under the Affordable Care Act to do outreach and enrollment assistance. This grant from the United Way of Tarrant County is part of its Consumer Health Insurance Marketplace and Enrollment Services (CHIMES) program, a statewide consortium to inform and provide enrollment assistance to those currently without affordable health insurance. The grant to Special Health Resources for Texas, Inc. is for four navigators to provide services to fourteen counties in East Texas. Efforts will be directed to educational outreach and to assisting those who need help finding affordable healthcare. Persons using the healthcare marketplace will be directed to private health insurance or to the appropriate governmental program. Navigators are charged to reach out to the most vulnerable and ensure the resources are available for them to obtain healthcare.With clinics and outreach programs throughout East Texas, Special Health Resources for Texas, Inc. is committed to providing health care to those with limited resources. This includes assisting people to access programs that will improve their quality of life, specifically health.
