GILMER POSTMASTER Danny Irwin retired from the U.S. Postal Service Oct. 1. Danny hired on in the Postal Service in 1975 as a clerk, and worked his way up to Postmaster. Danny became the Postmaster in Gilmer in 2001.  A retirement party was held for him recently to wish him well.
