Open Classical to Present Music Moves at Klyde Warren Park
DALLAS – September 10, 2013 – Dallas based musical arts organization, Open Classical, known for producing highly entertaining and engaging performances with a welcoming spirit, will present Music Moves on the main stage pavilion in Klyde Warren Park on Saturday, September 14th, 6:30 – 10pm. Powered by Cirro Energy, this free show is the first in a series and combines instrumental and vocal classical music with seven local dance companies including ballet, tango, tap and modern dance styles.
“The collection of performers planned for this weekend is phenomenal! It’s a unique opportunity for fans of classical music and dance to enjoy a broad variety of traditional and contemporary music, as well as, inspire and educate new audiences to experience the arts, as well. Certainly something for everyone”, said Celia Barshop, VP of Business Affairs at Klyde Warren Park.
The show, Music Moves kicks off a Fall season of performances presented by Open Classical in Klyde Warren Park, powered by Plano-based Cirro Energy. Metroplex Pianos will provide a Yamaha AvantGrand Hybrid Piano N3 model for the evening.

Open Classical director, violinist/violist/composer Mark Landson will host the show along with pianist, Thiago Nascimento. Featured dance companies include Dallas Black Dance Theater, Contemporary Ballet Dallas, Evolution Tango, Avant Chamber Ballet, Rhythmic Souls Tap, Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet and Gaudium Dance Movement.
SMU Concerto competition winner, violinist Eleanor Dunbar and John Turman, hornist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra join Florence Wang and Jonathan Tsay from Ensemble 75, sixteen-year old composer/pianist Chase Dobson, plus a dozen other instrumental performers. Tenor Damon K. Clark of the Dallas Opera and soprano Sarah Davis highlight a variety of vocal performers.
The evening will be filled with classical music favorites including Barber’s “Adagio for Strings”, Saint-Seans’ “The Swan”, selections from Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”, plus tangos by Astor Piazolla, arias by Puccini, and a few new compositions by Open Classical composers.
Open Classical will be participating in the Fall for the Arts event on October 5th and the holiday tree lighting event at Klyde Warren Park in November, as well as, presenting a classical music, costumed Halloween-themed show on October 26th which will include an encore collaboration with The Band of Puppets.
