POWER, Inc. Presents the 11th Annual Adaptive Sports Fest for People With Disabilities

The Sports Fest is an exciting day at Lake Gladewater on Saturday, September 21 from 10am to 4pm where people with disabilities of all ages can experience the many benefits of outdoor land and water therapeutic sports and recreation that includes adaptive water skiing, handcycling, kayaking, archery, fishing and much more.

Professional service providers travel from as far as Houston, Texas to help ensure a safe and memorable family-oriented day.  Activity clinics are adapted where needed to offer physically and mentally challenged individuals the opportunity to meet others with similar life circumstances.

Our goal is to help build self esteem and confidence to this underserved population while bringing people together, disabled and non-disabled, to promote disability awareness and understanding.  One past participant with a spinal cord injury stated, "Kayaking and making new friends was awesome!  The Sports Fest proves people can do anything they put their mind to regardless of their disability."  This event is free to all persons with disabilities and their guests.  Lunch and refreshments are served on a first-come, first-served basis.

This event is made possible with the support of public donations and our corporate sponsors.
