HISTORIC FORT WORTH STOCKYARDS AND STOCKYARDS CHAMPIONSHIP RODEO AMONG TOP 15 DFW ATTRACTIONS

The popular Fort Worth Stockyards and its attractions are a top destination and bring in thousands of visitors each year

FORT WORTH, Texas (August 28, 2013) – The Historic Fort Worth Stockyards and the Stockyards Championship Rodeo rank among the Top 15 attractions in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  The Fort Worth Stockyards are a top destination for out-of-towners and locals.  The only year-round rodeo takes place every Friday and Saturday night at the Cowtown Coliseum in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards.  The Stockyards Championship Rodeo is the first indoor rodeo of its kind and is a nostalgic event for the City of Fort Worth.

“We pride ourselves in providing quality events every weekend and daily entertainment for the patrons of the Stockyards”, said Hub Baker, executive director and producer of the rodeo. “The Stockyards are dedicated in preserving the Western way of life and the cowboy by exemplifying top notch family entertainment. It’s the only place in the world you can see daily cattle drives, are guaranteed a rodeo every Friday and Saturday night; can listen to top musicians, shop and dine all in one location”.

Recently the rodeo has received national attention because of a film crew from MTV’s South of Heaven being on hand. South of Heaven is a reality TV show that follows the lives of a group of fun-loving young ladies who are working to make their dreams come true.  Friday night August 23, 2013 the crew was filming Morgan Adler, a member of the show’s cast, at the Stockyards Championship Rodeo as she lived her dream of being a barrel racer.

It is also a common to have top professional rodeo cowboys competing in the weekend rodeo.  Eight-time world champion cowboy and rodeo legend Joe Beaver competed in the team roping Friday August 23.

The Stockyards Championship Rodeo maintains a strong commitment to visitors looking for an authentic western cowboy experience by guaranteeing rodeos every Friday and Saturday night year round. The professional staff, contestants, and volunteers play a vital service to the City of Fort Worth and the North Texas community by preserving the traditions and lifestyles of the American Cowboy through fun-filled family entertainment!  For more information about the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards and the Stockyards Championship Rodeo, please visit www.stockyardschampionshiprodeo.com or follow us on twitter @StockyardsRodeo.
