DALLAS, Tex. (August 16, 2013) - Back in her hometown to kick off the Truckload Carrier Association's (TCA) Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour (of which she is the headliner), country recording artist Lindsay Lawler has also been commissioned to perform at the 15th Annual Trucking Roundup at the House of Blues as part of the Great American Trucking Show (GATS). Co-sponsored by Randall-Reilly Recruiting Media, the National Association of Independent Truckers (NAIT), and the Commercial Vehicle Training Association, the event will take place on Wednesday, August 21 from 6:30-8:30pm and will also include an open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a live broadcast by Renegade Radio Nashville.

"I'm thrilled to have been asked to be a part of this event," said Lawler, who is also the TCA's Highway Angel program spokesperson. "GATS is always a great chance for the trucking industry to come together and, because honoring the hardworking men and women of the trucking industry is important to me, I always really enjoy attending the show. To have Renegade Radio there broadcasting with me at a venue as cool as the House of Blues in my home town of Dallas? It doesn't get much better than that..."

The Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour, designed to promote a better trucking industry image through the exposure of the TCA's Highway Angel program, will kick off at the Prescott, Ark. TA on Monday, August 19th from 4-7pm where Fikes Truck Line - owned by former TCA Chairman Gary Salisbury and the latest sponsor to sign on for the tour - will debut the official Highway Angel Truck Stop Tour truck and stage. The week will also include a stop at the Terrell, Tex. TA on Tuesday, August 20th, also from 4-7pm.

Each stop will feature an hour-long acoustic performance by Lawler from atop a flatbed truck, as well as a live, two-hour radio remote through Renegade Radio, with whom Lawler already hosts two radio shows (including On The Road to Music City, which is trucking industry-centered). Additionally, stops will boast the opportunity for sponsorship booths, promoting an interactive, family-friendly experience for all in attendance. All tour stops are posted on the tour's official website,, and are subject to change.

About Highway Angel:

Created by the Truckload Carriers Association, the Highway Angel program seeks to recognize and reward the good deeds of professional truck drivers - ranging from simple acts of kindness, such as fixing a flat tire, to heroic life-saving efforts, such as pulling someone from a burning vehicle and administering CPR. In addition to special recognition by TCA and the driver's company, the Highway Angel program seeks to promote greater public recognition of all Angels through the placement of select Angel stories in industry trade press and on social media. The program continues to focus on improving the public's image of truck driving as a profession, and providing a program that recognizes drivers and helps individual drivers feel better about themselves and their professions. Companies use this program to improve morale and self-image among their driving force, many making the Angel program part of their recruitment and rentention programs.
