FairTax should be passed

There is no place in a society of free people for a government agency like the IRS.  For 80 years it has been used by administrations of both parties to punish their enemies.  All citizens are subject to the IRS.  Congress has made is so, if we are charged by the IRS of wrongdoing, we MUST PROVE OURSELVES INNOCENT or pay the penalty.  This is just plain wrong.

Today Dave Camp, chairman of the House Ways and Means committee, in a press release mentioned "...first steps that have been taken to correct management flaws at the agency..."   Really; management flaws!  Those guilty of behaviors described recently in the media should go to prison.  The IRS should be dismantled.  Congress should be ashamed.

Finally, in the name of "comprehensive tax reform" the FairTax legislation should be given a fair and public hearing by the Ways and Means committee.  This legislation has been in the possession of this committee for over 12 years; it has not been brought to the committee table for consideration.  If the FairTax were the law of the land this could never have happened.  Contact your congressmen with the message: "Kill the IRS and pass the FairTax."

David Tuerck, Chairman of the Department of Economics and Executive Director of Beacon Hill Institute at Suffolk University in Boston rebutted Bartlett's criticism of the FairTax. Tuerck found six errors:

•misstating the calculation of the effective tax rateunder the FairTax;

•concluding that the removal of existing taxes in

anticipation of the FairTax would reduce prices;

•observing that imposition of the FairTax would raise prices by the inclusive rate, rather than the exclusive rate;

•implying that the FairTax rebate is intended to

compensate consumers for rising prices;

•alleging duplicity in how BHI/Kotlikoff handles the rebate in calculating the FairTax rate; and

•erroneously claiming that the FairTax would and on state and local government

Good to see you are keeping an open mind! Remember that once upon a time people were told women, Blacks and Native Americans would never vote! Politicians want to be reelected. Study the issue and start talking to friends. Call your Congressman and demand his support of HR25/S122. Use twitter and Facebook to let others know about FairTax.

IRS,

It isn't that I have given up hope of getting rid of the IRS. It is just that after nine years of study and debate, I know that the Fairtax as described in HR25 is not the way to do it. A much simpler national consumption tax that gets rid of just the income tax makes far more sense to me. Let me know if you want to read about it. vanlinda777@gmail.com

Glenn, you know better. The Fairtax has had a review by the Bush Tax Reform Commission and two hearings by the House W&M Committee. Most recently, the Fairtax witnesses got their heads handed to them by the W&M Committee senior members and Bruce Bartlett.

I am afraid this will NEVER HAPPEN, as they have made sure of that,,, By putting a TAXING AGENCY in CHARGE of OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM...

Further more they do not have to have a consent form to look at your medical records... as REQUIRED BY HIPPA...

SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT AT IT FINEST...
just another lie

Again this current government from the king obama down to the house and senate and the supreme court.. Have done nothing but twist and skirt around the CONSTITUTION of the USA. There for committing Crimes AGAINST the AMERICA PEOPLE..

But I guess the big brother does not have to worry about prison... so that will never happen..
