Urologist Delbert Rudy, MD, has joined UT Health Northeast after more than a decade in private practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Dr. Rudy has over 30 years of experience as a urologist, which is a physician and surgeon who treats diseases of the male and female urinary tracts and the male reproductive organs. He is board certified in urology.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Rudy was a professor of surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School in Houston. He also was on the faculty of the Department of Surgery at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque.

His special interests include treating adults who are having problems urinating and neurogenic bladder, in which a person lacks bladder control because of a brain, spinal cord, or nerve condition. Dr. Rudy also treats female incontinence and pediatric wetting problems.

In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Rudy has a master’s degree in pharmacology from the University of Dalhousie in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and a master’s degree in business administration from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

For more than 60 years, UT Health Northeast has provided excellent patient care and cutting-edge treatment, specializing in pulmonary disease, cancer, heart disease, primary care, and the disciplines that support them. UT Health Northeast’s annual operating budget of $138.8 million represents a major economic impact of over $347 million for the Northeast Texas region. Since 2002, scientists in the Center for Biomedical Research have been awarded more than $120 million in research dollars. As the academic health science center for Northeast Texas, its graduate medical education programs – with residencies in family medicine and occupational medicine – provide doctors for many communities throughout the region and beyond. UT Health Northeast is also the program sponsor of the residency program in internal medicine at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
