pleased to announce they have hired Mr. Scott Holloway as Executive Director. Holloway comes to Longview
with many years of experience as an animal shelter executive director, shelter manager, boarding kennel
owner/operator and animal behaviorist.
“Our goal is to save as many adoptable dogs and cats as we can. We also want to educate the public
about pets and their care,” said Holloway. He continued, “I plan to provide leadership, expertise and
knowledge that will enable us to grow with the community and improve the human-animal bond."
HSNTX Board President, Susan Gill stated, “The board is very impressed with Mr. Holloway’s
experience, training and successes. We are so fortunate he agreed to accept the position with our shelter and
move to Longview. Our pet population deserves the best and Scott is one of the best!”
The Humane Society of Northeast Texas, a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was formed in
1972 by a group of Longview citizens who wanted to ensure that the community’s homeless and unwanted
animals were treated with compassion and kindness. To provide this service, the HSNTX built and continues to
operate the animal shelter located at 303 Enterprise Street in Longview. The HSNTX is funded through public
donations, fees charged for adoptions and other services and contracts for animal sheltering services with
municipalities in the region. The HSNTX animal shelter is an open admissions shelter, meaning that all animals
brought through its doors are accepted and the staff and volunteers are dedicated to finding homes for as many
of them as possible.
In March, the HSNTX took in 445 animals and the save rate was 67%. The Humane Society of
Northeast Texas is accepting volunteer and foster applications and welcomes partnerships with rescue groups
across the U.S. to expand its ability to provide a positive future for the animals entrusted to the shelter. For
